Anke Lucks (*1974, Mettmann/NRW) studierte Jazzposaune in Berlin, wo sie seit 2000 lebt. Nach dem Studium tourte sie weltweit mit dem Artistik- und Musikprogramm Balagan und europaweit mit der Band Rotfront, spielte Theater- und Filmmusik unter anderem mit der Band Shmaltz und hatte einmalige Auftritte mit Albert Mangelsdorff, Anthony Braxton, Tyshawn Sorey. Seit 2015 konzentrierte sie sich zunehmend auf eigene Projekte, so hatte ihre musikalische Bearbeitung des Textes Die Ursonate (Kurt Schwitters) 2016 auf dem Berliner Theatertreffen Premiere und wurde zusammen mit Thomas Krüger und Potsa Lotsa weltweit über 30 mal aufgeführt.

Zur Zeit tourt sie viel mit dem kollaborativem Projekt Insomnia Brass Band, ist aber auch als Mitspielerin in diversen Formationen gefragt wie New Generation of Sister and Brotherhood of Breath von Gunther „Baby“ Sommer, Bonecrusher von Matthias Muche, dem Wolfgang Schmidtke Orchestra, Absolutely Sweet Marie von Alexander Beierbach, Marcus Klossek – Blink 6. Förderungen für ihre Arbeit als Posaunistin und Komponistin erhielt sie in den letzten Jahren durch Stipendien des Berliner Senats, des Musikfonds und des Deutschen Musikrats. Die Insomnia Brass Band wurde im April 2023 mit dem Deutschen Jazzpreis in der Kategorie Band des Jahres ausgezeichnet.

Raissa Mehner, E-Gitarristin und Komponistin aus Köln, begibt sich mithilfe diverser Effektgeräte und Präparationen auf die ständige Suche nach neuen Soundvariationen, um „ihr musikalisches Universum in alle möglichen Richtungen auszudehnen". (Jazzthing, 2022)

Sie studierte Jazzgitarre, Klassische Gitarre und Komposition an der 'Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln' und der 'Folkwang Universität der Künste' in Essen. Als Bandleaderin und Komponistin konzentriert sie sich auf die Arbeit mit ihrem Quintett 'Raissa Mehner Deviation'. In ihren Duos 'wehnermehner' (Git/Posaune) und 'Double Exposure' (Git/Vibrafon) zelebriert sie eine verspielte und kommunikative Art der Improvisation. In ihrem Trio 'TOXODON' (Git/Vib/Dr) ballert sie schroffe Independent-Riffs über heftige Beats. Sie ist außerdem Teil des übergroßen Krautrock-Impro-Orchesters 'The Dorf' und des experimentellen Jazz-Pop-Quintetts 'LARIZA'.

Andrius Savčenko is an emerging force in the Lithuanian jazz and contemporary music scene, known for his refined touch, intellectual depth, and fearless approach to improvisation. As a pianist and composer, Savčenko bridges the elegance of classical tradition with the spontaneity of jazz, crafting a sound that is both grounded and exploratory.

A graduate of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, Savčenko has quickly established himself as a sought-after performer, collaborating with many of the country’s leading jazz musicians and appearing at major Baltic and European jazz festivals. His playing reveals a deep understanding of harmony and form, marked by fluid phrasing, dynamic contrasts, and a distinct melodic sensibility.

Savčenko’s compositions often reflect his broad musical influences—from post-bop and Nordic jazz to Lithuanian folk themes and modern classical idioms. With a growing discography and increasing international attention, Andrius Savčenko represents a new generation of Lithuanian jazz artists: technically accomplished, stylistically adventurous, and deeply committed to artistic integrity.

Leonid Shinkarenko stands as one of the most influential and respected bassists in the Lithuanian jazz scene. With a career spanning several decades, Shinkarenko has not only demonstrated technical mastery of the electric bass but has also played a pivotal role in shaping the modern sound of Baltic jazz.

From his early days as a member of the legendary Vilnius Jazz Quartet and  Chekasin jazz quartet, Shinkarenko established himself as a deeply expressive and versatile musician. His tone is warm, articulate, and unmistakably grounded, providing both rhythmic stability and harmonic sophistication. Whether performing in intimate trio settings or leading large-scale ensembles, his command of the instrument is unwavering.

What sets Shinkarenko apart is his ability to adapt across genres without compromising artistic depth. His collaborations span avant-garde jazz, fusion, and contemporary classical music, often bridging traditional Baltic motifs with modern improvisational language. He’s performed with global jazz luminaries, yet consistently champions original compositions and projects rooted in Lithuanian identity.

As a bandleader, Shinkarenko has released numerous critically acclaimed albums, showcasing not only his compositional prowess but also his commitment to nurturing new talent.
